....here are the cookies for you.
I remember it like it was yesterday. My son and daughter busy in the kitchen getting Santa's snack ready. Their tiny little hands placing the cookies on the plate. Pouring the milk into the glass only spilling a little, "don't worry mom." The concern for the reindeer and making sure they had some food to nibble on but should they put the pieces of carrots on the same plate as Santa's cookies? "Do you do that, dad? Will Santa think the carrots are for him?" Leaving the hand written note so Santa knew what food was for who and to make sure he said hello to Ruduolph for them. Both so excited and wondering what was going to be left under the tree. Talking together about what they were hoping for and how good they'd been the last year so there presents were probably going to be good ones. Just like it was yesterday, so many wonderful memories!
There's no challenge being entered today I was just having fun playing with another one of my new House Mouse stamps. Seems I can't get enough of these cute little guys. It's a good thing because I do have a few here just waiting to be rubbed all over with ink, stamped and coloured.
For this card I stamped a second candle and cut it out. This candle was a little smaller than that of the one in the image. I coloured both candles the same and attached the smaller one on top for a little dimension. Thought it looked alright but as I was sitting here typing this and looking at the picture of the card, I changed my mind. I gently unstuck the little candle and moved it just off to the right and down a bit. Looks much better now, I think. It's OK to change my mind, isn't it? After all it's a womans perogitive! I read that somewhere so it must be true. Oh dear, I think it's going to be one of those days....my poor family!

ReplyDeleteAh, great memories of your children at Christmas. My favourite time of the year, filled with magic! Love this little HM stamp, beautifully coloured and the whole card just looks perfect. Did you know that over here you can get HM decoupage? This image is in one of the Christmas sets. Have a great weekend honey! Di xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this lovely memory. I remember when my parents got a lovely new coal fire with a glass door on the front, my sister & I were terrified Santa would get stuck and not be able to open the door LOL
ReplyDeleteLove you card - I have some House mouse stamps that I haven't used either.
