WOYWW

Five times this month Julia......WOW!

November 2011 Calendar

Want to join in some fun?  Want to see some amazing talent?  I'm not just talking construction paper, scissors and crayons here, I'm talking the real deal!  You'll see art at it's finest entwined with a bit of humour and everyday life.  Join Julia as she leads a weekly bare all of work desks!  A safe place, so to speak.  A place where a messy desk is considered the norm and there is no judging allowed, only sharing!  Show us your desk!  Is it messy?  Are you a clean freak?  We don't care, honestly....we want to see it!  We also want to see what your working on.  Share your workspace, the desk, floor, counter, bed and/or table it's created on.  Not sure there is anything that would surprise anyone of us so grab your camera, take a picture and share in the fun!  What are you waiting for?   Click on the purple link above but be warned, it's addicting!

My turn!!
Working on a wreath.
Just finished a video that will be posted showing how I will fluff
this little guy.  He's just been purchased and a little
squishy looking....the poor thing!

Picked up a few neat little things at the dollar store too.

Just this week I read a great article about items at the dollar store.  There is a stigma that because it is a dollar store, the items there are cheap and of no value.  While this might be true for some things the dollar store isn't all crap cheap like most people think.  There are definitely some great things to be found.  Here is a great link that gives you the skinny on deals and duds at the dollar stores.  If you have a few extra minutes, another link worth reading.

Wherever you are in your day, I hope your enjoying it!
Wishing you many wonderful creations!

  6. Our dollar store is nothing like yours...not got decent Christmas stuff to take apart like this. I have been on the look out since I first saw you post about the little tree. I am now off to the China town place next week to see what I can get there...

Enjoy making the wreath. I love 99p stores (UK version of dollar stores; if you keep your eyes open and know your prices and quality you can get some great things there!

  9. You are so the queen of bargain buying. Generally in the UK if it comes from a pound store it is reasonably rubbish but there are a few bargains to be had if you look really carefully......

  10. No shame in the Dollar Store if you can find bargains you can use! We have a real cheapo place near us and everyone's terribly snobby about it - but they all go there! They do awesome bargains on artists' materials, quite apart from absolutely anything else that you could possibly want, from DIY, furniture, clothes, books, cheapy ornaments... Your little wreath is coming on fine and I'm sure it will be really pretty. Happy WOYWW, Shoshi #70

  22. got to love a dollar store... we used to live in Florida and the dollar store was like candy land... really missed it when we moved back to Australia... but then we got a version here and all was right with the world xx

  23. Fluffing and primping - you truly are a skilled elf!! I'm OK about dollar stores -(Poundland here, probably the nearest thing) - I agree, you just have to be selective...part of shopping that I like.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oooo I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this wreath - get to your fluffing LOL.

There is so much snobbery about £1 (or 99p) stores - the UK versions of $ stores - and yet there are always huge queues waiting to get to the checkouts. Yes you have to be selective but why pay over the odds for items that can be picked up so reasonably.

    Toni xx

  26. I love dollar stores. There's a great one near my friends in CA which is a "must" when we go over. Quite like our "pound" shops over here for bits and have just researched "euro" shops in Munich for our visit to the Christmas Markets there.
So you see I am with you on this one - and look forward to seeing your finished project.
Thanks for sharing - now to visit the Santa in your left bar.
